Scared and alone, she pounds on the stone walls, her skin slowly bruising and cutting )
walkwithheroes: [The Princess Bride] (Default)
I bring an original supernatural/sci-fi story. The story is about four people who are just trying to find what they want in their world.

The story centers on a group of five people, who are all trying to find what they want in the world. Maggie Quinn awoke in a cement cell years ago. Now, she's taken care of by Douglas Andrews, a man whose given up everything in order to care for Maggie. The two live together with Simon Turner, a 20-something just trying to get his life back on track. Everything seems to be going well for the threesome, until the arrive of mysterious James Warren. Oh, and did I mention Simon's a werewolf, Warren's a vampire, and Maggie's. . .well, over three hundred years old?

walkwithheroes: [The Princess Bride] ([Film] Different Is Cool)
I thought I would be super busy, but these past two weeks have been a bit dull. I've got time to kill, so. . .

Request an AU and a continuity, and I shall write a snippet from that AU for you.

This can be an AU of a fandom or one of my original stories.
walkwithheroes: [The Princess Bride] ([Buffy/Angel] Childhood Trauma)
Give me one of my own stories, and a timestamp sometime in the future after the end of the story, or sometime in the past before the story started, and I'll write you at least a hundred words of what happened then, whether it's five minutes before the story started or ten years in the future.

If I made Cinderella, the audience would immediately be looking for a body in the coach.

When I write a story, what do readers immediately look for?

If you could ask any of three of my characters (from fanfic or original) any three questions, what would you ask them?
walkwithheroes: [The Princess Bride] ([CryingOut] I'll Get Fat)
If you don't know the site http://tvtropes.org - you should. It's a great site that tells you all the tropes that are in television, films, manga/anime, literature, well. . .everything. I went on it and noticed that my original story, Wonderlife fits many of these points. So, I made a list. I'm sure only a handful of my f-list will like it, but I'm still putting it up.

There's always a woobie )
walkwithheroes: [The Princess Bride] ([Cinderella's Unni] A Connection)
Wonderlife is a new original fic that I've been working on for over two years. I think of the story as a human drama filled with romance and some comedy. It's the story of people; a family that is formed by people whom society doesn't want. They are con artist/gamblers/etc, who are just looking for a moment of wonder in a life that is filled with anything but.

Geum Chan-wook is a middle-aged gambler, who has "adopted" seven people throughout the last twenty-two years. The stories tell of the complicated relationships within (and outside) their family, as well as the daily issues they face while trying to stay under the radar. The stories I have written so far explore the past, present, and future of this family. The stories are sometimes dark, sometimes fluffy, but always character driven.

The story is being written for the fabulous journal, [livejournal.com profile] runaway_tales . Sadly, you can only read the stories at the journal - because I have only posted two or three on this journal - but joining is free and is worth it.

walkwithheroes: [The Princess Bride] ([Random] Walk in Snow)
I wrote this for my college's first literature magazine last December. It was put into the magazine along with one other play. This one won the Editor's Choice Award. The basic plot is fairly simple: it's a one act play that has two terminally ill patients discussing one of their future funeral. I thought the idea of the two view points would be interesting to write. The result was this play: a discussion between Tom and Lena about Tom's funeral, when he is actually the one with the greatest chance of actually surviving longer. The gang in my Creative Writing class called it, "darkly funny" with characters who were "funny in a place where humor shouldn't exist."

Author's Note: This is my first piece with Taka. Taka was interesting and even a little sad to write. If Ling'er needs looking after, Taka needs a doctor. It's possible she has some form of autism, but Chan-wook isn't exactly the time that takes people to the doctor.

Genre: Human Drama, Dark(ish) Comedy, Romance
Challenge: Mango, Licorice, and Fudge Ripple

The story tells of a con artist/gambler who, over the last twenty-two years, has 'adopted' seven children/teenagers. The stories, set in the modern world, tell of the complicated relationships within the "family", as well as the issues that are dealt with daily by people that don't really fit in anywhere.

The stories I write will explore the past, and the present. There is a present 'plot' that will be dealt with, but I also want to explore the past. These stories will be heavily character driven. I must warn you now, I am known for my love of twists, angst, and sometimes the overload of fluff.

walkwithheroes: [The Princess Bride] ([Random] Everything he wanted)
This is an orginial short story that I wrote for my creative writing class. I am thinking of submitting it to the school's literary magazine. Feedback would be helpful, as the deadline is Dec. 12th.

Because I have so much free time (er, no free time.) I ended up joying [livejournal.com profile] 100_original, in which I'll write 100 drabbles, fics, poems, whatever about orginial characters in an orginial world. So cool and a great way to do my thing. I've already got the characters and started writing. For anyone that cares, here's a sneak peak.
