. . .when things have gotten about as bad as they can reasonably get."
That pretty much sums it up in terms of this issue I've been having with a grade issue from last semester. I'm supposed to have a 'B', but the transcripts all say 'C'. When I emailed the prof, well, that's another story. The woman went back and forth between me having a 'B' and a 'C' in her records - for a month. And now? She still hasn't called in to have the grade changed and I have a meeting about my fall tuition and what my grant will pay on Friday. They pay based on grades and that damn 'C' is going to throw me off. I'm bringing the emails from her to prove I have a 'B', damn it.
I want to go on a trip to St. Louis next month and I have the cash and time to plan, but I'm not sure if now is the right time to go. But, I do want to do one fun thing this summer. After all, sometime next month the parents are redoing my bathroom. I'll be shipped off to my grandmother's place for a couple of weeks. Not that I mind, but her small town isn't really a vacation spot. Despite being home to the "World's Famous Fred's Lounge". It's more of a nice and quiet place where I can relax and watch tv all day.
I'm getting into wuxia dramas and have been watching Young Warriors of the Yang Clan for a week or so now. I'm on episode thirty (just finished it) and so far I like it a lot. Romance of Red Dust is another story - five episodes in and I'm bored. But, I'm hanging in there as it's supposed to get good.
Also - while it's not wuxia, I am watching Men and Legends (starting disc four tomorrow). It's Peter Ho and Dylan Kuo as two young kung fu students who become friends and find that the evil Japanese are plotting things and are responsible for the death of Peter's Master. (That's not giving anything away, it's on the back of the box)
It's not bad and I adore Dylan's character with his OTP - the daughter of his teacher. She's physically weak, but follows him anywhere and would do anything for him; he's the same way. Peter's OTP is a female reporter, who is literally always wearing a hat. Seriously, she has one for every outfit. And it's the same hat, just in different colors. There must have been a sale.
But, I kind of ship Peter with the daughter of the crazed man who teaches both Peter and Dylan's character some moves while they are in exile - long story. She's tomboyish and sassy and they have good chemistry. However, she's gone now and Peter's character is back in the city with his OTP and a little girl that he kinda nearly killed. . .by setting her house on fire.
Also - I have this sinking feeling that Dylan's OTP may end up married to someone else. The guy her older sister likes, but their father wants the guy to marry Dylan's OTP, so Dylan will stop being in love with her. Whatever. (Side note: I really need to learn these people's names.)

Date: 2009-06-24 09:58 pm (UTC)I'm not so into Peter's OTP, but that might just be my issues with their storyline: childhood friends who haven't seen each other in a while, they re-meet and suddenly it's true love? Been there, done that. I think that love story was rushed at the start, then they spent episodes (two discs) apart and seemed to be falling for other people - until they were reunited. Or maybe it's those damn hats. I always stare that them and I'm sure that causes me to miss 70% of their conversations. Ugly hats on such a pretty girl is a crime.
