walkwithheroes: [The Princess Bride] ([Dream High] Broken Heart Girls)
A second season of the addictive drama Dream High has been announced. It will air in January of 2012 and will have a whole new cast. My thoughts on this are mixed, because I did love the first season, but mostly due to the characters. I'm not sure if I could take six new Idols coming in; especially as Idols can be very hit-and-miss acting wise. Hell, some of the cast of Dream High only became 'good', acting wise, toward the middle or end of the drama.

Higher-ups from KBS had this to say: “Whether we’ll be casting rookie idols like ‘Dream High’ and ‘Jungle Fish,’, or whether we’ll be going through an audition process is still up for discussion. There’s a high probability that the season will begin airing in January of 2012, just in time for winter break.”

So what might change for “Dream High Season 2″? The representative did not reveal much, but said, “The original format of ‘Dream High’ was great, so we’re planning to carry it over.”

Again, I'm not so sure how I feel about this, as part of the fun of the first season was the misfits becoming stronger and the craziness of their teachers. I guess that the second season will take place in 2012, when the original characters from season one are rising stars. Wonder if they'll cameo?

This. . .is kind of crazy.

Yu Watase's popular manga series "Fushigi Yugi" is being adapted to the stage. The news was announced on Wednesday by the Shogakukan magazine Flowers, which currently serializes the manga's prequel, "Fushigi Yugi Genbu Kaiden."

The stage adaptation is being produced by promotion company Amipro and directed by Shintaro Sugano. So far, only Mao Miyaji (26) has been announced as a cast member. More details will be made available on Shogakukan's website.

A total of 9 performances are scheduled over a five-day span (October 20-24) at The Pocket theater in Nakano, Tokyo.

I saw this over at dramabeans and had to bring it over. If only because Kwon Sang-woo was/is casted as the male lead for the long awaited Daemul with Ko Hyun Jung.

I'm worried if this booking will push back Daemul or if the drama will be canceled again. It's not schedule to air until October, so there is still a month or two left for them to recast Kwon's role if they have to.

[Side Note and Personal Thought: The thing about Kwon, for me, is that he did great in his younger days; but, for the past few years he's been playing roles clearly meant for men five-ten years younger. That may not seem like a huge deal, but he's thirty-four and is taking roles like the one in Cinderella Man and. . .well, I wish he'd take a grown-up role like the one he was/is meant to have in Daemul.]

I do have to say this: I hope that they just recast if they feel the need to. I don't want this drama casted aside. It's one of the Fall dramas I'm really looking forward to.

I have to agree with her on this one -the way this went down was very funny. It sounds like a scene from a comedy series or a really horrible episode of Cops! I have to say there is no way Kwon wasn't drunk. Because if he was sober. . .he should never be behind the wheels of a car.

I would just really love to know what really happened that night. Apparently he's being really apologetic toward everyone, so at least there is that.

In Texas, there are several schools that have 'wolf packs' roaming the hallways. They are high school kids dressed in emo-ish clothing that they bought at Hot Topic and wolf tails. Yes, these kids are wearing wolf tails that I think they took from a raccoon hat, fake teeth, and contact lenses. It just reminds me of that Glee episode where the teenage girls wearing fake vampire teeth attacked the newspaper boy to impress that man that plays Edward Cullen. lol.

I'm all for self expression, but this is a bit weird for me. To me,it's just emo outfits with added fake tails. I do love their fake 'wolf' names though - Wolfie Blackheart?
