I'm still rather upset, but I finished this early today and decided to put it up. It's a multifandom fanvid using sci-fi British shows. I finished it in order to take my mind off things, so I do hope it is enjoyed.

While it may seem like all I do is watch Asian dramas, that’s not true. I’m also a huge fan of British television, and not just Doctor Who. Way back in 2006, I started watching Life on Mars and fell in love with it. I ate both series up and could not wait for new episodes. I was actually really sad to see it end, and though there is Ashes to Ashes (which I’ve only watched three episodes of) it’s just not the same.


There was something special about the show. I even did fanvids for it and wrote a crossover fic with Sam and River Tam!

To quote one of the producers: ”It’s the thinking man’s Doctor Who.”. Recently, I’ve started a rewatch of the show and actually watched all sixteen episodes in two and a half days. In honor of this, I decided to do a bit of a pimp post for the drama. My hope is that at least one person reads this post (because it will take a lot of work) and that at least one person gives the show a shot after reading this.

Theme/Other: I have been meaning to do another Life on Mars video for a while now, but couldn't really find a song. Then, I watched a Doctor Who fanvid that used "Don't Stop Me Now", and all I could think was: 'It's perfect for the Doctor, and it's perfect for Sam'. The fanvid itself is a bit tongue and cheek at some points, but I think it works.

Spoilers for all eight episodes of series one. The video is heavy on Sam, but has a lot of Gene and Annie, too. With a bit of Chris and just a hint of Ray.

Fandom Title: Life on Mars

Theme/Other: I've wanted to make an Annie-centric video for a while now, and finally I've done it. I find Annie very interesting, because she's really the only female on the show and since we see her from Sam's POV...she's seen as something of a 'caregiver'. I also think she sort of takes the place of the 'mother/sister/wife/daughter' for all the men around her. It's interesting to me that all the males on the show have either expressed interest in her or stated in some way that they find her attractive. And yet, Annie seems glued to Sam...even though she really shouldn't be.

So, even though I wanted to make it just Annie-centric, it becane an Annie/Sam video, but it's not all that 'shippy' in terms of the song itself and the clips used. 'Cause even if you think Sam/Annie is love, you got to know that Annie might be better off with someone else.

A/N: So, at one in the morning, I got this thought into my head: 'What would Sam Tyler and River Tam talk about?" Having not written River in ages and having never written Sam, I found myself at a cross roads. To write or not to write? Finally, the idea was too good to pass up, so I wrote a little something. It's short, only has a small plot, isn't beta'ed or britpicked, and is most likely average at best. Still, it was interesting to write and I do hope someone enjoys it.
Summary: Sam Tyler wakes up to find a girl in his room. River Tam's dreaming again.
