Title: Love is Growing Up
Music: Love is Glowing by James Wendt
Rated: G
Details 4:04 minutes, 9.37MB, AVI file
Disclaimer: The song and clips aren't mine.
Theme: A video about the friendship that develops between the three main characters of Nobuta Wo Produce. Also, focuses on the relationships that Nobuta has with both Akira and Shuji. More OT3 then anything else.
Notes: Ex-posted a couple of places. When I heard this song, I was surprised at how much it reminded me of Nobuta and the friendships/relationships the three main characters have. So, after a lot of trouble (it took forever to get all the episodes loaded into my video maker), I started on the video. Even if there are a few glitches, I'm happy with the way it turned out.

great job!!! I had forgotten just how lovely the series was, and how wonderfully the friendships between the three characters were portrayed. you did an awesome job interpreting the song and matching it up with the storyline! :D

Thank you! 'Ships aside, the show really is all about the wonderful friendship that develops between the three characters. The friendship was the series; all the actors have awesome chemistry with one another.

Yes, I also try to match the clips and storylines up with the songs I chose. I hope to make more vids using this series, as well as other series from Japan.

Thanks for watching.

i'm totally with you in terms of the actors having a great chemistry with one another, which makes it that much more amazing to think that the ones who played shuuji and akira weren't on good terms before the series began! have you by any chance seen the extra behind the scenes footage that came w/the DVD? it was so much fun to see the crew throw a surprise bday party for nobuta!!! :D

i look forward to seeing more of your vids in the future!

ooh, i've been looking for a twdrama to watch for a while now, and i took a peek into your userinfo and saw your gifs for "my lucky star", and ep01 is downloading as i type! thank you for introducing it to me!!! ^-^;;;

They weren't on good terms? You'd never guess that by the interviews they did right before/during the show.

by any chance seen the extra behind the scenes footage that came w/the DVD? it was so much fun to see the crew throw a surprise bday party for nobuta!!!

No, I haven't. But, I would love to. Any idea where I could see them?

Okay, I'm going to be a big geek for a moment: My Lucky Star is by far my favrite Twdrama. It's so unlike any of their other 'idol' dramas; the plot is so freash and it doesn't drag. Plus, Jimmy and Ha Na have crazy chemistry. I really hope you enjoy it!

Mm...should I do a series/episode by episode review for the show? Maybe.

BTW: Mind if I friend you?

i'd love to be your friend! *adds you back* i was about to ask you myself lol~

apparently yamapi and kame (akira and shuuji, respectively) had a falling out sometime around middle school, and even fought each other in a park! pi talked about this in an interview after nobuta finished airing, and it generated a lot of fandom buzz, understandably, as like you said, it's not apparent at all! they're good friends now however, so everything is good in the world lol~

here's a clip to part 2 of nobuta behind the scenes...i'm uber fail and can't find part 1. T_T i downloaded a copy from bittorrent, if you'd like it non-pixelated! the three of them are such dorks~ i love it! :D

--> if you have some time, i'd encourage you to check out some of the other clips below, including the drawing game one. omg, it's absolutely hilarious!

ooh, i'd love to read a review of my lucky star! :D jimmy's bad boy look is so adorable~ ^-^

Oh, dear! Well, I'm just glad everything is right with the world. I don't think the Johnny fangirls could handle it id Kame and Pi weren't friends.

Thanks for the clip. :) I'd watch the nonpixelated one, sure. I agree, from the interviews I've seen: they are total dorks when together.

Yup, I may just do the MLS review(s). Jimmy's adorable with his 'bad boy' look, true. Did you like episode one?

to be honest, i wasn't too used to the plot line from episode one as i'm usually drawn toward more everyday life sort of dramas. *looks around guiltily* but the previews to episode two seemed funny~!

i've seen a couple of twdramas that i really liked, including "mars" starring vic zhou and barbie hsu, and one that's not well-known called "say yes enterprise." i find that jdramas appeal to me a bit more cuz they're shorter and oftentimes the acting isn't as overdramatic, but i may just be biased toward the pretty boys ^^;;

Oh, I liked "Mars" a lot. But, I've never heard of "Say Yes Enterprise". Usually, I'm also drawn to the Jdramas, but I found myself really loving "My Lucky Star". The plot line, to me, is more or less about everyday life...just a bit more dramantic at times.

Really, it's a love story. But, it's done in a way that's not like other Twdramas. It's not overly dramantic and the main couple doesn't spend 85% of the show tossing around banter and denying their feelings for one another.

lol okay i'll give episode two a try! :D

Yes, yes! Keep going with My Lucky Star, because it gets really good. Episode eight is one of my favs. ;)

My Fav Jdramas:

-Nobuta wo Produce
-Orange Days
-Crying Out Love at the Center of the World
-Hana Yori Dango (1 and 2)
-Kurosagi
-Pride
-Beautiful Life
-Tatta Hitostu no Koi
-Strawberry on the Shortcake
-Taiyou no Kisetsu
-Tree of Heaven (though, that's mostly considered a Kdrama)

@___@ sugoi!!! i haven't seen like, 3/5ths of the list you have, so i'm definitely giving those a try! have you seen lon vacation? kimutaku is a wonderfully nuanced and versatile actor, doncha think? not to mention his drool-worthy looks of course ;)

oh, i forgot to mention that i like NANA, the anime and live-action films as well~

i haven't seen that many kdramas, but i did see full house, which was just _too_ good! are there any others that you feel are up to that caliber? i wanted to watch my name is kim sam soon, but it got licensed before i got a chance.. :'[

Yes, do give all of those Jdramas a try. They're all great, imo. Long Vacation has been on my 'too watch' list for ages. I really do need to watch it soon. That and 'One Millon Stars...' The thing about Kimura Takuya is that... he was in several of my first jdramas. lol. I really started to think: 'This man is in everything!'

Oh, I loved the first Nana movie, but I didn't care for the second one as much.

Full House! I looovvvee Full House. Did you hear that they'll be a second one?

KDramas I love:

-My Girl (You can get the DVDs in America, but you can still d/l it around the 'net)
-Goong (Started out slow, but around episode 4 or 5 things picked up. Perfect for when you're in the mood for romance and teenage angst)
-Delightful Girl Choon Hyang/Sassy Girl, Choon-hyang (One of the best Kdramas ever. It has everything: humor, romance, drama, angst, annoying best friend... :) I watched the whole show in one day.)
- Noon Eui Yeo Wang AKA: The Snow Queen (It's a bit like all those pure love dramas that came out of Japan a few years back. Only, it makes me cry more.)
-I'm Sorry, I Love You (Awesome. In my top 20 of dramas out of Asian)
-Snow White (cute fluff with a pretty male lead)
-Coffee Prince (just finished airing. It's cute, with a bit of drama)

Some (light) K-movies to rec:

-My Little Bride (It's cute fluff, with some funny moments)
-My Tutor Friend (Lesson One is better than Lesson Two, but both are good. Plus the leads in Lesson One have awesome chemistry)
-A Millonaire's First Love (You cry and cry and laugh and laugh)
-Jenny, Juno (sweet film about a tough subject)
-Herb (Some plot holes, but a nice film)
-...ing (Sad, but lovely)

Jfilms rec:

-Lovely Complex: Live Action (Cute film. Cute boys. Cute female lead. Just cute)
-Josee the Tiger and the Fish (A favorite, though I can't tell you why.)

oh, kimutaku was like you as kame was to me in terms of their being in the first dramas i ever watched! i actually got introduced to the whole JE hulabaloo after looking up the lead actors in nobuta, and boy, that lead me into a whole separate universe! lol~ your description of kame as the boy who desperately needs to eat is so fitting! his waist is something like a mere 23 inches around...@___@

oh goodness, thank you SO MUCH for the recommendations! i watched an episode or two of coffee prince, and really felt like the female lead is doing a great job in keeping up her masculine demeanor. the funny thing is that i felt the plotline was too similar to that of hanakimi from just reading the synopsis, but after watching a little, it's clear that they're quite different.

ohh i watched both of the jfilms that you recommended~ the first one was incredibly silly and cute like you said, and the second one is one of my favorites as well! i can't really put my finger on why it is either, but i do know that i love both of the actors--satoshi tsumslaj;sd (lol), and the girl who was in summer snow!

Same here. I mean, it was Kame and Pi in Nobuta that lead me to the strange and wonderful world of JE. Honestly, I still don't really get it. And yes, Kame is skinny, skinny. I kind of feel bad for the actresses he acts against: they're beautiful and healthy and he's a stick.

oh goodness, thank you SO MUCH for the recommendations!

No problem! I have plently more, if you ever want them.

i watched an episode or two of coffee prince, and really felt like the female lead is doing a great job in keeping up her masculine demeanor.

I really enjoyed Coffee Prince. I agree about the lead actress: she was the lead in Goong. And, it's like two totally different people. To be truthful, there are times when I forget she's a girl in this drama. lol.

ohh i watched both of the jfilms that you recommended

I'm glad you liked them. Lovely Complex is a cute film, I agree. It's fluffy and silly and just perfect for when you're bored or want to take it easy. The second film...I think I like it because there's just something sad and true about the film as a whole and the romance between the two main characters.
