walkwithheroesYou know how you sometimes really wish for something, and than when you get it. . . it kind of sucks? Well, maybe it doesn't suck, but it certainly isn't what you thought it would be. And, you're sort of left with that feeling of disappointment. But, you just don't know how to express it clearly, because you don't want to come off sounding like a jerk. Well, that's me at this moment.
Why?

nihongofrancais that Kamenashi Kazuya will be in a winter series! That makes me happy, as I've missed the little guy. But, the series makes me less than happy. One Pound Gospel sounds like a bit of crack!drama fun. But, the truth is that I'm getting bored with all these manga!adaptions. Each one just gets more crack-ish in terms of style, writing, and acting. Now, some are awesome, of course. Hana Yori Dango and Nodame Cantabile come to mind.
But, do I really want to watch Kame play a boxer that can't stop eating? And, you just know they'll cast someone like Nagasawa Masami or Toda Erika. While I like those girls, I just don't think I could stand seeing them play a naive, fledgling nun. I think I'd overload on the sweetness and have to turn it off, while muttering evil things to myself.
Another thing that has made me disappointed is this season's Heroes. I watched the first two episodes and than stopped for a bit. G4 showed the four episodes I missed. So, I spent the afternoon zoning out to the show.
Oh, wait. . .I do.
The plot line is slow, and I'm starting to dislike the main characters. Plus, the show seems all over the place. There were moments where I sat up and thought: Wait, did I miss something, like. . . a whole episode.
Character Thoughts:
Claire - Where is the cool, rebel with a cause, Claire of season one? She's been replaced with (gasp!) a whiny teenager. Or rather, she's been replaced by someone that seems totally curious about powers that she's had for at least nine months. I understand that she wants to test her limits. But, can I really stand another week of Claire wondering if her body parts will grow back? The girl revived on the autopsy table, healed severe radiation burns, and came back from the freaking dead! Yet, she wants to know if her limbs will grow back? Come on, Claire!
Noah aka H.R.G. - Still fairly cool and kick-ass. Though, he's getting pretty dark. . .
Peter - the angst!hair is gone, but the angst is still there. Alive but amnesic, Peter's become. . . kind of dull. He's exploring his powers and sleeping with Caitlin. At least things seem like they will get more interesting for him.
Nathan - Full of angst, but he doesn't seem to do much these days. Things are looking up now that he's hanging out with Matt.
Matt - I've always liked him, so it's nice that he finally has something to do. If he stayed with Molly to play Mr. Mom for one more minute. . .
Suresh - Honestly? Same old, same old. I'm glad he's trying to take down The Company. But, he seems to do the same thing every week this season.
Niki/Jessica - In the last episode, The Line Nikki (or Jessica?) was acting a little like a child of the corn. What is up with her, and what has the Company really done to her?
Micah - Still a cute kid. His powers are interesting, and I'm looking forward to seeing what else he can do with them.
Ando - The best thing ever was Ando reading the scrolls Hiro left him. It was like he was 'watching' a soap opera (or a Korean drama). Loved how he told the specialist to go back, and not start reading in the middle of the scroll. lol.
Hiro - He's messing with the freakin' timeline! Falling for and kissing his new bffs girl. (For shame, Hiro. For shame!) Seriously, he was like: No, I won't kiss her. It will ruin so many things. . . aw, screw it! Come here, Love Muffin. *sigh*
Sylar - All angsty, but still pretty evil. Where are his powers? And, why are people 'shipping him with Maya? He plans of killing her brother and/or her!
Molly - Poor Molly. Her 'My Two Days' life kind of . . . sucks.
New Character Thoughts:
Maya and Alejandro - I liked them at first, but their story arc just seems to be the same thing every week. They discuss getting to New York, Maya talks about God, Maya has an 'episode', Alejandro saves her. Sometimes they throw Alejandro and Maya have a disagreement in there. But, that's it. Things are a little more interesting with Sylar, as he adds a new side to the Maya character. (And, who else thinks Alejandro can understand and speak English?)
West - Make him go away! He's ruining Claire!
Elle - She seems like a 'fun' and 'evil' character, so I look forward to seeing more from her.
Monica - A sweet girl, but I find her a bit bland. I like the actress and character, I just don't care as much as I should. But, a Louisiana native on a tv show. Yay!
Takezo Kensei - Sexy. I find him very complex and look forward to seeing more of him. Somehow, I think he was the first 'hero' and that all 'heroes' steam from his family tree. Making, all the 'heroes' related somehow.
And, 'cause I'm bored. . .
