The new television season as started, and it seems I'll be watching three shows. All three shows are ones that I've been watching, because nothing new struck my fancy. I think tv people are just getting lazy. And, when they do have a moment of brilliance, their show gets the boot. What I mean is, there are a couple of things that I semi-want to watch, but I fear them going off the air after three episodes. I don't want to fall in love with a show, only for it to be gone after two-thirteen episodes. Even rave reviews from critics doesn't mean a show will last, sadly.
Pushing Daisies looks like it might be worth a look, though. If I can remember to watch it, I might. I have a bad feeling that it might not last long, as middle America might find it to 'out there', but I can't help wanting to see it.
I'm going to go ahead and post more links to
zaninichi_hana. I'm quickly falling in love with these characters and their storylines. Any readers out there should find it interesting - how these characters go from who they are in these stories to who they will be in the planned series.
For example, Akazome Miki starts out as a bit of an innocent oddball. And, though she'll remind innocent, she will calm down before the start of the series.
A huge example of change is Katayama Jeni and how she'll go from being sick in the hospital to where she'll be in the series.
Then, there's all the relationships. It should be interesting to read about all the 'gaps' and how people work their way from one thing to another. Like, Ito Jiro comes arcoss as close to Jeni and her parents in the current 'two-years ago' stories, so I'll be writing how he got that way soon. And, when the series comes 'round, it should be fun for the readers who stick with me to see how that relationship progresses.
Actually, if anyone sticks with this, they should (hopefully) really enjoy how these characters and relationships progress.

For the first eleven years of Miki's life, nothing happened – nothing at all.
I finally got around to watching Battle Royale II. Dear God, that movie was awful. Awful. It's over two hours of kids shooting guns and Tatsuya Fujiwara being all emo. No character development at all, and the new characters were fairly annoying. I missed the kids from the first film. And because she reminds me of me, I also missed Noriko.
I also watched Dear Friends, which was very sad but touching. And, I finally watched Crying Out Love. . . the film - I cried like a baby.
But, I do hope the two Why Why Love episodes and the finale of Hana Kimi that are on my computer will make me feel better.

Title: Teenagers
Song: Teenagers by My Chemical Romance
Disclaimer: I don't own the song or the film.
Details: WMV file. 2:37 minutes. 10.7MB
Theme: Really just a video about those crazy BR teenagers. I totally followed the lyrics. It was fun.
Vidder's Note: When I reheard this song a few days ago, it made me think of the film Battle Royale. I decided to use clips from both films to show how the kids went from normal teenagers to what the government was trying to stop them from becoming. And honestly, did they not stop and think: "The teenagers are pissed and rebeling. Let's make them kill their friends and classmates. Surely, the winner of the game will be a much more normal and happy person. He/She will listen to use and cause no problems as he/she gets older. Oh, wait. . . the winner will most likely hate the goverment even more."

Title: Hide and Seek
Song: Hide and Seek by Imogen Heap
Disclaimer: I don't own the song or the film.
Details: WMV file. 17.8MB. 4:25 minutes.
Theme: A video using clips from Battle Royale (and some from BR II). Mostly focusing on Shuya, Noriko, and Kawada. Mostly about Shuya and Noriko from the first film to the end of the second film.
Vidder's Note: I seem to have a thing for putting this kinds of songs to this film. What can I say, I love the character moments in these films. Okay, I like the character moments in the first film and the last ten minutes or so of the second film.

Title: Blue
Song: Blue by Angie Hart
Disclaimer: I don't own the song or the film.
Details: WMV file. 11.47MB. 2:49 minutes
Theme: Yori and Iku may be in love and together, but they're also very much alone.
Vidder's Note: Because the damn film's still on my computer for some reason. This took me forever, but I love it. I would also like to point out that Matsumoto Jun's hair in the scene, were he and Nana Eikura (or is it Eikura Nana?) lay on the grass after sneaking out, is like so wavy and perfect. I want to brush it. Darn Japanese actors/idols and their perfect shampoo ad hair!
