crossovers100. Thank you to my beta
It's safe under her covers, River knows this.
Not even Simon can find her under her covers, and that means she's safe from all the monsters, too. If Simon protects her from the monsters, that means he can find her easier than they can...which means she's safest under the dark covers of her bed.
The softest of sounds catches her ears, it sounds like someone breathing...breathing her scent in. Ah, there it is, a monster has found her. Ever so slowly, River turns in her tiny bed and peeks over her covers. Above her stands a man, or rather a boy-man, who smells like nothing and everything all at once.
Without a doubt, River knows what it is he wants...even if she has no idea where he's come from. The most peaceful of smiles plays in her eyes, but does not quite make it to her lips.
It's time to go.
River opens her mouth, but nothing comes out. The scream is caught in her throat, and by the time she finds her voice...it's all over and far too late.

Date: 2007-01-16 03:25 am (UTC)The crossover is a book/movie called Perfume: The Story of a Murderer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perfume_%28novel%29). It was written in 1985, and is actually a little creepy, but a rather good read/film.
Partly from Wikipedia:
Both the novel and film are about a young man that has no scent, but a wonderful sense of smell. He becomes obsessed with procuring the perfect scent that will make him fully human. In the process, he creates perfumes—presumably based on pheromones—that powerfully manipulate human emotions, murdering 25 girls to take their scent.
