Aug. 9th, 2012 08:09 pmGive me any two of my characters (from Wonderlife, Surely Someday, or Addictions) and a book/film/movie. I'll give you a 100-500 word story.
The characters can cross-over or be from the same story.

Date: 2012-08-22 11:56 pm (UTC)Peake hadn’t wanted to go to England. He hated planes, traveling, and the idea of his bags being searched. (He had to leave all his good stuff at home.) The whole trip had been terrible. From Laura and Danny’s public fight to Laurence getting lost in the London Tube to Phobia freak out on the plane . . . nothing had done right.
Now Peake was in a hospital, waiting.
02.
Fucking France. That was where all his problems had started. He’d gone there and gotten bitten, which had lead him straight to Andrews and Maggie. Five years and five months later, Simon was in the hospital, stealing medical supplies. All he had to do was make it back to the first floor, and it would all be alright. No one had to know he had stolen; no one had to know why he was stealing.
Simon entered the elevator.
03.
Peake entered the elevator at the same time as another man, who appeared to be a few years younger. The young man looked dirty and unkempt; homeless, even. Peake briefly wondered if the guy had any drugs on him.
“Hey,” Peake stated flatly. The guy simply nodded in greeting. “got a cigarette on you or anything?”
The guy raised an eyebrow. “You can’t smoke in the lift.”
“I’ll smoke it later.”
The guy shifted uncomfortably. His eyes drifted up. “This lift is slow.”
Peake’s gaze drifted over to the guy’s backpack. It was blue and looked like it was about to burst open. The guy was dirty and he was shifting uncomfortably and worried about the speed of the elevator.
“Dude. . .are you stealing?” The question was out of Peake’s mouth before he could stop himself. The guy turned slowly to face him.
04.
With a shift moment, Simon had the wiry blue-haired guy against the wall. “Don’t. Bother. Me.”
“Like I’d say anything. I’ve got my own shit to deal with.”
“Your own shit?” Simon asked, backing away slowly.
Blue Hair dusted himself off. “There’s a girl upstairs whose sort of my girlfriend and sort of in a coma. Which I sort of put her in.”
“How can you be sort of in a coma?” Simon thought back to his own home, where one of the most important people in his life was currently in her own coma. “You either are or you aren’t.”
“She’s catatonic and it’s my fault.”
05.
“It’s all my fault.” Peake took a deep breath. “I told her to come and she. . .”
The man held up a hand. “I don’t care.” The man sighed deeply. “Look, I’m sure it’s important and all, but I’ve got my own problems. As evidenced from,” he gestured toward his back. “this. Just, uh . . . be there for her. She’s your sort of girlfriend? That means she’s family. You take care of family.”
A ding echoed throughout the lift and the doors opened. With a small smile, the man exited the lift and headed straight for the hospital’s exit. Peake watched the lift doors close. He pressed for the fifth floor.

Date: 2012-08-26 04:32 am (UTC)On one hand, I apologize for making you wait.
On the other, for me, this was totally worth waiting /for/.
I really like how this flows despite the POV switches; how incidental and meaningless and FUNNY it could all be, except for the little place where it can't and won't be.
This was a really fun read and Peake calling Simon on his thievery? I grimaced along with Simon, which was just cool XD.
Thank you so much *heartbubbles*.

:) Thank you!
I just couldn't not have Peake call Simon out on his thievery. He's Peake and he's Simon - of course it would come to that. (BTW: his stealing is part of the last chapter in Surely Someday's first arc.)
You are very welcome! It was a bit of a challenge, but fun. Please feel free to ask for another crossover anytime.
