Being Human 4.06 and Once Upon a Time 1x15

Being Human:

-Allison and Tom were adorkable together. I liked how the show showed how killing vampires change people. That Allison started out as such a sweet girl who wanted to use words, and in the middle she was all fired up, but at the end she was somewhere in between.

- I loved that we got more Tom and Hal bonding. I really enjoy their interactions because they are such opposites and either is changing for the sake of the other. But, they are both changing.

- Hal's love interest Alex? She seems like a plot device or a shallow love interest. She has brothers and likes drinking. There is a spoiler that Hal falls in love and I'm guessing it is with Alex. But, I can't bring myself to care. She seemed more interested in a quick fling than a relationship. Hoping Hal gets something more 'real' later.

- Some of the episode was so awkward with the little Allison/Tom scenes and what not. But, I think that was the point - they are awkward and adorable people.

- Again, Annie gets a stupid sub-plot. The only good thing about it was the end with Eve. Oh, and the fact that they are clearly foreshadowing that Annie may have to do something less than 'nice' in order to pass on. (But, didn't she already do something not so nice the first time she got her door? She got Owen to admit that he killed her, but she also shared "the secret only the dead know" and drive him crazy.)

- I'm starting to think that Annie will cross over at the end of S4 or the start of S5.

- I do hope Allison comes back later. She and Tom were really sweet together, and - after growing up a bit - she could be a nice addition to the group.

Once Upon a Time

- I thought that the wolf would be Granny or Peter. Boy was I wrong! Little Red Riding Hood's the Big Bad Wolf in her own story! What a twist!

- Poor Peter. :( Red/Ruby's true love is dead. But, maybe that is why she's so. . .single and ready to mingle in Storybrooke?

- Granny is no longer a werewolf. . .but is Red's curse not happening in SB? I guess the big Curse sort of gets rid of the other curses - like Red's and Rumpelstiltskin's. It makes sense, but I still love that she always wears red. (Does it remind anyone else of the Power Rangers?)

- I'm so glad that we got more character development with Ruby. She can do more than just be sexy and wait tables. I am also so happy that she has stopped wearing all that makeup. Megan Ory is 30 (playing 18) and she looks so much better with soft makeup.

- I think that every character has a bit of a love story going on this season. And, Ruby's is with Granny. Love it!

- I. Don't. Care. About. MM/David. They bore me and this whole 'Kathryn is missing/murdered' storyline does very little for me. And, it sucks that the SB storyline seems to be that murder mystery for the rest of the season. :(

- However the fact that David was in some weird trance in the forest and that there is a box with a heart in it (with Snow/MM's fingerprints) is interesting and something I look forward to seeing play out.

- Seriously, when was the last time we saw Archie?! (P.S. Love that his dog is named Pongo!) And Ruby was on the phone with Ms. Ginger aka the Blind Witch!

- Red and Snow's friendship is really nice and I look forward to seeing more of them in flashbacks. (Also Granny is a badass)

- Next week: Another Snow/Charming flashback episode?! I'm getting so bored with them. Simply because we already know they will end up married and that Snow won't kill Regina. But, at least we'll see Snow making another deal with Rumpelstiltskin. I'm sure he'll discuss how revenge is awesome and true love sucks.

So - what do you guys think? Did you enjoy "Puppy Love" and/or "Red-Handed"?

Being Human 4x07 and Once Upon a Time 1x16

Once: (live-blogging)

- Red going all wolf on the guards to give James/Charming more time? She's taken a level in badass since we last saw her.

- Snow White post-love poison is hilariousness. As was the intervention. She turned Happy into Angry for a minute. lol.

- If they are questioning MM about the murder, shouldn't she have a lawyer. . .? Regina being there is good to make sure that Emma doesn't try and help MM by telling her about the investigation, but sometimes (okay, a lot of times) Regina takes her power as Mayor way too far.

- They found the heart in MM's jewelry box?! This is such a setup! Regina's speeches to MM and Emma - foreshadowing her past?

- I love the Grumpy and Snow friendship.

- So, August/The Stranger is there for Emma? Interesting. . .

- I get that Regina is, in all likely hood, playing David. But, I can't help from feeling that she's really taking about herself, her past with her mother, and whatever it is that Snow White did to her in the other world.

- Mr. Gold! Okay, the fact that he's a lawyer is a little 'last minute plot development', but I get that it is needed to continue the whole 'Regina vs. Gold/Rumpelstiltskin' angle that the show is working right now.

- Now why oh why is Gold/Rumpelstiltskin invested in MM/Snow's future?

- Archie!

- Aw, Rumpelstiltskin has a bunch of roses. . .

- It's so sad, but now whenever Rumpelstiltskin goes on about anyone's love life and/or the pain they've caused someone I so think of either Belle or/and his son. With his talk with James, I totally thought of Belle.

-Why would you want my cloak?
It's drafty in here? lol.

- Henry took Regina's keys. Guess she can't be a creeper anymore.

- Of course the keys work when Emma uses them. She's the key to everything!

- I hate to say it, but I kind of dig "evil" Snow. Knocking people out, making fun of Charming's name, mocking love. . .I sort of like it.

- So under hypnosis, David remembers seeing Snow in the woods? But, of course he'll think it was MM. Oh dear. I am really starting to think they'll drag this plot out until the series finale. I'm a little annoyed by that.

- Archie helped David, sort of. Now it's JC's turn!

- Aw, I liked James/Charming taking the arrow to make Snow remember. Their reunion and his speech was all rather sweet. To bad MM/David has already been ruined for me. Still, I will go on loving their fairy tale land personalities and romance.

- Of course they are going to drag out the 'everyone thinks MM killed Kathryn - even David' story line. Ugh. Does anyone out there really care about MM/David? I don't. I can't. Could someone please explain the appeal of making one of the major final story lines of the season be about their 'true love' and how the world is against them?

- Oh, Grumpy and the others offering to help MM save James/Charming is just so. . .I'm smiling.

-Um. . .who put the key in the cell?

- Does this mean that Regina has taken Kathryn's heart?! Or worse actually killed her? Would she do that to the person she thought of as her first real friend?

- David doesn't believe MM, MM doesn't have faith in Emma. This family.

- The Genie's lamp. (Also - Gold has on a wedding band. Others were discussing it (yes, I peaked at spinning tales journal entry for this episode) and I think it's just a blooper and RC forgot to take off his ring. But, it's great how many Rumbelle fans have jumped on it.

- Gold and Emma teaming up? Awesome.

- What was/is Rumpelstiltskin doing with the hair? Oh, bottling true love. But. . .why?

- Looking forward to next week. It should be interesting to see how they deal with Wonderland. It looks like the Mad Hatter remembers his world. And, I guess the show is doing the whole many worlds thing: Fairy Tale, Wonderland, Real. . .who knows what else.

Being Human:

- This episode was amazing.

- Cutler's back story with his wife and not wanting to kill and then going crazy after Hal left him was heartbreaking.

- The parallel's between what Hal did to Rachael and what Cutler did to Alex was excellent. Now granted Cutler and Rachael were (I'm assuming) a happily married couple and Alex and Hal knew each other for all of two days. . . so it takes a bit of the drama out of it. But, it was still a heartbreaking and gasp enduing scene.

- Tom. I adore you so much, but you need to grow up a bit and get a clue. I love that he has a sweetness about him and he's innocent. But. . .sometimes he can be dense. If there is a S5, I want that to be the series were Tom becomes an adult.

- Annie always has these amazing series finale episodes, but then she's wasted in the next few episodes. If Annie is in S5 - give her something to do. Or will she move on and will Alex become the ghost? I hope not. . .Alex is a good enough character, but I couldn't handle her for 8-9 more episodes.

- The Annie and Eve stuff killed me. Tom becomes a hard man and dies. :( Hal is evil and the vampires are all Nazi. :( Annie disappears into smoke. :( Eve is put in a camp and fails at protecting humanity. :( So, so so sad. But, I did love their exchange: "Do people have jet packs?" "No, they're mostly all dead."

- But. . .hasn't Eve already done it? Her future has been changed. Because, before Hal wasn't in the house. Now he is. Also, she's dead now. Maybe now the humans will win? It's just. . .I'm wondering if things haven't already changed. I mean, the time lines split when Leo, Hal, and Pearl went to Annie and Tom. So. . .maybe it will be better? Also, I'm assuming that the time Tom "accidently" killed humans was during the nightclub scene. But, thanks to Hal and Alex, he didn't kill anyone. So - things are already changing.

- The scene with Annie crying and singing to baby Eve broke my heart. She thinks she has to kill her baby! :(

- The Old Ones have arrived. . .they aren't as scary as I thought they would be. They sort of look like extras from Upstairs, Downstairs or something.

Being Human 4x08 and Once Upon a Time 1x17

Once:

- Oh dear. While we learned a lot this week (or there were hints of things to come), I felt like a lot of it was filler. Then again, I felt the same way about Dreamy, and loads of people seem to love that episode.

- I wonder what all the other cast members were doing while they filmed this (and the next) episode? Really the whole episode was Regina, Jefferson, Emma, and MM. With special cameos by Gold and (both) Henrys.

- I guess the curse transported Jefferson to Maine, because he was from the Enchanted Forest. He didn't belong in Wonderland. But, he sure did go mad there. Trying to get his hat to work and (maybe) getting his head cut off a lot.

- Do you think the hat worked? Or do you think Jefferson made a run for it? I think the hat worked, but I must wonder: where did you go? To an empty and lonely Enchanted Forest or to crazy Wonderland? I think being in an empty world would be worse, actually.

- MM - you were an idiot for running away. But, it's great that she remembered some of her Snow-ness in order to help Emma.

- Emma lying to Jefferson about believing him? That made me a little annoyed with her. I know she did it to save herself and MM, but still. . .how is she still so blind? I mean, all that's happened and the book and she doesn't believe? Even a little? The producers have already stated that Emma won't truly believe until the end of season two or mid season three. I'm really starting to question how smart Emma is. Can she save herself and take care of herself? Yes. But, the fact that she won't see what is in front of her face - getting annoying.

- Gold and Regina working together? Interesting. . .Gold is always playing his own game, isn't he? And now we know how the key got there.

- Regina and Jefferson have a past. . .interesting. As is the fact that Grace's mom died because of what Jefferson did. And he had a magic hat that took him to all the worlds that exist! I hope they revisit that later.

- The Queen of Hearts interests me a whole lot. I wonder if she'll show up again and how she and Regina know one another. . .

- Next week we finally learn what Snow/MM did to piss off Regina so much. I still have a bad feeling that it was because the Stable Boy was killed. . .so not a reason to banish everyone to our world. So not a reason. Take it out on Snow if you must. But the whole world? Uh. . .overkill.

- My sister and I watched this episode and are watching the show together. We both agree: all the Snow White, Regina, and Charming flashbacks are getting old - fast.

Being Human

My emotions! But did anyone else find this episode a bit rushed? Then again, every BH series/season final feels rushed.

- The Old Ones weren't nearly as scary or even as threatening as the show has made them out to me. Sure, it seems like they are all dead, but - at least two left the warehouse when Hal showed up.

- Cutler! He was a fabulous character and I'm a bit sad to see him go. I truly hope the actor gets more work, and soon.

- I wonder how many werewolves work for vampires?

- I felt terrible for Annie. That is such a choice: keep the baby you've been raise - that you love, that is the baby of two of your best friends - and let the world burn. Or kill that baby and save the world. . .and her final choice - killing Eve. Annie saved the world. And, I like to think she's reunited with Mitchell, George, and Nina.

- Hal's hunger for blood is back after 55 years. (Or at least his control is gone) I mean, he drunk blood - covered with gross bugs - off the floor. Ew. Boy really has no self control.

- Tom. Tom, I love you. His willingness to join the Old Ones, just to keep baby Eve alive. . .dumb. But, so caring and just Tom. I'm really sad he and Annie (and baby Eve) never got to say goodbye. :(

- Hal and Tom = best friends for life.

- So. . .Alex is the new ghost in our vampire/ghost/werewolf trio. I wish I liked her more, but I find her slightly annoying tbh.

- Sad that Annie is gone, but hoping we might see her again. Simply because Eve said she plays by her own rules. And I really do want her to say goodbye to Tom.

- Now, this shadowy organization that cleans up after Types 0-5. . .I'd like to learn more about them. Especially as they don't seem to work for anyone. Do they kill vampires/werewolves? Or do they just clean up the messes they make? And what just is a Type 0? I thought Type 1 was vampire, Type 2 was werewolf, Type 3 was ghost, Type 4 was zombie, Type 5 was succubi. Is Type 0 demon? Did I miss something?

Overall, I really liked S4 of Being Human. It must not have been easy, losing all but one of their four leads. But, they brought the new characters in beautifully and I really enjoy them. The series/season four story arcs were brilliant, and I love that this season/series (like S1 and S3) had a great mix of humor, heart, and angst. I look forward to seeing a S5.

Agreed on the MM, David, and Regina story line(s) getting old fast in Once Upon a Time. I think I've already prepared myself for the source of Regina's anger being disappointing--because really, I don't think anything justifies her seeking to destroy the lives of everyone ever. It's just petty and childish and there's very little that could make me come to like Regina as a character.
