Due to the Oscars, only Being Human aired this week. But, that won't stop me from sharing a few random Once Upon a Time thoughts with all of you. As always, there are spoilers.
Being Human
- More than anything, I think this week's Being Human showed us the weaknesses of our three heroes and it also showed just how new they are. One psychopath can destroy their little family in less than three days. True Kirby was preying on their weaknesses, but he did it with ease. He played on Annie's fears, Tom's youth and naive, and Hal's dark side. And he did it with ease. Kirby was annoying as all hell, but the actor did a bang up job playing a crazy killer.
- Hal (dressed in Mitchell's clothing!) and Tom pretending to be Eve's gay daddies? I died. It was just so awkward and weird and awkward.
- I love that they are making Hal different from Mitchell. He's been dry for 50+ years, but only due to his list and his OCD schedule. He knows he's bad. He also apologizes for his darker moments. I love that he has more control and that he is more mature. Hal is really growing on me.
- Tom is adorable love. He's so new and dorky. The excitement he felt when he thought he was going to get a birthday cake? Aw. You just want to give him a cuddle. I'm so looking forward to him getting a lady friend later this series.
- Annie showing some of her true potential? Finally! Please let this be the start of something bigger for her character.
- I know Hal is supposed to fall in love later this series (and according to the actor it will be hilarious for us to watch, but heartbreaking for Hal) and I'm wondering if he falls for Annie? I hope not.
- Tom's blood burned Hal! Please let this be a red herring. I couldn't take Hal being Eve's big empty.
- Ghost!Lady(adult Eve?) faltered when she heard Annie was gone. I thought she was Eve, but then I started to think she was someone else. She's rather interesting.
Once Upon a Time
- Is it weird that I really want to do a group video with "Jesus Walks" by Kayne West?
- Does anyone else think that S2 will have character flashback episodes ala LOST? I hope S2 has less Snow and/or Charming flashbacks. I love them, but there is only so much they can do. I already know they get a semi-happy ending in the Enchanted Forest world. So, it makes things less dramatic.
- So:
Ep 14: 11 Dwarves/Grumpy back story episode.
Ep 15: Red Riding Hood/Rudy back story episode.
Ep 16: Snow (Charming?) back story episode.
Ep 17: Mad Hatter back story episode. (And in SB, Emma gets kidnapped by a crazed man with a love of hats!)
Ep 18: Young Snow/Regina back story episode. (First appearance of Cora, Regina's "evil" mom)
Ep 19: Rumpelstiltskin (and son) back story episode.
Mmm. . . that leaves three episodes. I am willing to guess that episodes 21 and 22 will be group back stories about the days before the curse happened. Or - their first days in SB. How cool would that be to see? People wondering around with hazy memories of their false lives. I'd love to see that!
- EdR is doing the plot for the night time soap that is about the fashion designer and his family life. But, she's also stated she will do more OuaT. Something tells me they will either kill Belle or leave it open. It'll depend on the plot and EdR's schedule. But, I'm really interested to see where Belle goes from here and what Gold will do.
-I'm really hoping Emma starts to believe Henry soon. It's kind of odd that all the adults talk about Henry's "fantasy", but none of them believe him. Emma, believe him! I just hope someone decides to believe the poor child before S2.
- More Archie. . .please?
- The released stills for "Red Handed" show Granny with scars, as if from a wolf. Could she be the big bad wolf in this retelling? I thought the BBW would be Red's true love, but. . .I could get behind Granny being the wolf.
- So, in "Hat Trick", Regina hires the Mad Hatter for something. And, the episode shows how he goes mad. Does Regina cause him to lose his mind?!
- Gold is set to defend MM in episode 19?! I guess he does have that soft spot for parent/child relationships and true love. But, he's not a lawyer. Anything goes in SB. And, it's more RC, so I'm not complaining.
