Comment to this post, and I will list seven things I want you to talk about. They might make sense or they might be totally random. Then post that list, with your commentary, to your journal. Other people can get lists from you, and the meme merrily perpetuates itself.
Questions from bookblather behind the cut.
1. What's your earliest memory?
It's a bit foggy, but when I was about two and a half my younger sister was born. I remember being in the waiting area with my grandmother, my grandfather, my older sister, and a few other family members. I remember crying and asking where my mommy was and saying I wanted my mommy.
2. What's your favorite piece that you've written?
That is a hard question. So, I'm cheating. :P With Wonderlife, I think it is an AU:We Are piece. I'm going to go with Paradise Lost I, because it's the piece where Jiro realizes he's doing all these horrible things for Nojima Kazuko, not Taka. And that he's harming Taka more than healing her. It's a great turning point for them.
In Surely Someday it's Douglas Andrews. It's a bit creepy and a bit sad and a bit sweet. Because Andrews is kidnapping Maggie for his own reasons. He - at that point - wants to use her as a replacement. He'll save her the way he couldn't save his wife. And she just wants a friend. So, when you read them together, it's just sad. I love that he basically gave away his life because of depression.
3. Did you ever break a bone? Which one? How?
No. I am 27, and I have never broken a bone. In fact, either has my younger sister. And my older sister was 30 when she broke a bone for the first time,
4. What was the last book that you read?
I just finished a novel today. It was Saving June by Hannah Harrington. The story of a girl, Harper, whose "perfect" older sister kills herself. Then, Harper, her best friend, and a guy June may or may not have been secretly seeing run away on a road trip - with June's ashes. June wanted to go to California. So, Harper wants to take her there as a last gift. It's a lovely novel with a lot of emotion. And some really great moments of humor.
5. What's your favorite word?
Comeuppance. A word I rarely get to use, but a word I love saying.
6. How many languages do you speak?
Just English. I can understand lots of phrases and words in several languages (Japanese, Korean, French, Spanish) but I have a terrible time actually speaking languages. I took French for four years and can only say a few small words. But, I kick ass at doing French grammar.
7. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I have a list! Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Australia, Scotland, Ireland, England, Italy, Spain, French, Denmark, New York, etc etc. Sadly I am very poor and can't afford to travel.
