Spam Comments

Am I the only one that has been getting spam comments? I seem to be getting at least two a day lately. It's a bit annoying; especially as most are ads for rather, um. . .adult things. Maybe the spam bots thought I wouldn't notice, as I don't have all that many posts. But, I've noticed. And I'm getting tired of deleting them.

I haven't, but I lock my posts these days. Are they from LJ users?

They are all anon comments. I would do screen comments, but it seems like a lot of work. :/ And if I lock, then I might miss out of meeting new LJ friends.

I think you can restrict, then, by limiting comments to LJ users only. I know that was my first-ditch attempt, and it cut down quickly enough.

This. I was getting a bunch of them too and I set my lj to no anon comments and haven't had any since.

It's under settings->privacy [enable comments]

I've been getting Russian spam, and then random here and there. I don't know if the level of activity in your journal matters to them?

I've also been getting the Russian and random stuff; three or so everyday. I thought maybe they were looking for journals that weren't too used - that would be easy to detect. I've changed it, so now only LJ users can comment. I hate to do it, but it may help.
