Doctor Who came back with its sixth series (since the reboot with Nine)last week. I watched the first two episodes - a two-parter that took place in America in 1969 - tonight. It was written by Moffat, which isn't really a good thing in my opinion. My problem with Moffat's writing is that he tends to ignore true character development and just go for the "scary" (which isn't always scary) and the shocking twists and turns (which aren't always shocking). He can come up with some great aliens and some very interesting ideas, but Moffat has trouble following through. I find his stories to be terrible anti-climactic.
The little girl is Amy's child. I'm guessing she's also Rory's. And she can heal or regenerate, possibly like Jenny. But, does that mean every woman that travels in the TARDIS has magical TARDIS-babies? Because Amy can't be more than three months along and she and Rory hadn't been in the TARDIS for three months. So. . .will Rose, Martha, and Donna have magical TARDIS babies? Or will the timeline of Amy's pregnancy be all screwed up?
And if that little girl is River Song, I'm punching someone.
Like S5, I think this series will be a mixed bag for me. I didn't start to like S5 (and I only liked it) until mid-way through. I think it will be that way again.
