walkwithheroes: [The Princess Bride] ([MSOAN] Mae-Ri is Brilliant)

I continue to watch Giant RAW - as you know I'm basically watching for Min-woo and Miju, and they break my heart more and more with each episode. Seven episodes left - can they be saved? I also watched the RAW third episode of Mary Stayed Out All Night, and found it even more adorable than the second episode.

Spoiler-filled thoughts follow for Giant

What breaks my heart with this storyline is that Min-woo is already in love with his son, whom he thinks isn't his son. As Satan-like as he's becoming, he still has a saving grace and that is the fact that he's still in love with Miju (even if he tries to push it down) and he loves his son, without even knowing it's his son. That's what makes me think Min-woo can be "saved" - he loves this little boy and wants him to be his son, even though he thinks this little boy is the result of a betrayal by the woman he loves.

Mary is freaking adorable. I want to watch Moo Kyul and Mae Ri hang out for hours and hours. Later, their friends can come over and they can all get drunk.

This was the episode where we got some development with Seo Joon aka Secondary Girl aka Moo Kyul's ex-girlfriend. You know, the one who dumped him last year. And I gotta say, I kind of think I want to love-to-hate her. Here's what we know about her: She dumped Moo Kyul last year in order to do a drama. She's still got pictures of him on her phone, and she still moons over him at his shows. She does Yoga to his band. She's kind of bitchy. Here's why:

Mae Ri is working at the pre-production photoshoot for Jung In's drama. Mae Ri is a huge fan of Seo Joon, so she brings her favorite movie star some water and tells Seo Joon she liked the film she did two years ago - the indie (that no one really saw) about music. Seo Joon is pleased. The bitchy manger from episode two comes along and tells Seo Joon that Mae Ri is a two-faced witch.

Later, in the restroom, a woman badmouths Seo Joon. Mae Ri is also in the restroom, and she begins to make a phone call (Mae Ri stop making phone calls around famous people!). Seo Joon pops up, angrily grabs Mae Ri's phone and breaks it against the glass of the mirror - breaking the phone and the glass mirror. (Is she going to pay for those?) Why? She thinks Mae Ri is the voice she heard talking about her! She barely gives Mae Ri the chance to explain. Bitch move, Seo Joon. I honestly thought she was classier than that.

Thankfully, later in the episode, Mae Ri confronts her in front of the staff and basically tells Seo Joon that she never talked badly about her. This leaves Seo Joon with grudging respect for Mae Ri. But, I still think she went to far with breaking the phone and the mirror. Yes, Seo Joon may have many anti-fans (as she has said), but that doesn't give her the right to destroy someone else's property.

On the other end of things: Moo Kyul and Mae Ri are adorable together. They've known one another a week and already people are mistaking them for a couple. I believe Moo Kyul is falling for Mae Ri - fast. All she has to do is look at him, and he does what she wants. We also learned a few pieces of info from a drinking game that the couple played with their friends: Mae Ri has never dated a guy nor has she ever kissed. Meanwhile, Moo Kyul has had over a hundred girlfriends (or "girlfriends") since high school (i.e. in the last six years).

Another interesting thing was that last scene: Moo Kyul in Jung-in's bed (half naked) after a night of drinking, Jung-in dressed only in a bathrobe, fresh from the shower. The two men talking about "last night" and being "partners". lol. Mae Ri overhears the two male voices and since her drama-addicted brain believes Jung-in is gay (he's indifferent to her, sees marriage as a business, was easily gotten into the 100 days thing, etc) she goes to check it out. And finds her two husbands! I laughed and laughed. Only this show would do something like that!

Tomorrow promises even more angst and laughs.

*Mary is awesome. Today. . . well, I hope the subs come out soon, because I'm looking forward to thoughts from my f-list*

Giant makes me nervous, because I don't want Min-woo to get an unhappy ending or die saving one of the Lee brothers - the ultimate redemption in these types of dramas.

The truth is no one in this drama is pure and good: how many people have the Lee brothers stepped on to get to the top or killed? They did those things willing to advance themselves in order to take revenge. Or Jung Yeon hasn't she tried to ruin KM's business? Yes, she thought he tried to kill her father, but. . . Min-woo is also being lied to. If all those people, and Jung Yeon's birth mom - who stole money from a sick woman with a baby, something that could have lead to KM not having enough money to care for Miju and the baby, which is why he had to give the baby up - can have a good life and be reunited with her daughter. .. then

what about Min-woo? Does he not deserve to have a relationship with WJ? Does he not deserve the truth from Miju? With only six episodes left it's not looking good for him. And, his scenes with WJ broke my heart today.
