They told me today that they will never again vote for a Democrat. Instead they plan to vote for, and try to get, the Tea Bag party into power. . .why? Because a radio program and Fox News told them that Tea Bag is the best party. I doubt they even know much about the party, let alone what they want. And, that's what makes me upset - they follow a news station and a radio program, instead of looking things up for themselves.

that is unfortunate. and a little disturbing. i'm sure your parents are nice people, but allowing the media to tell you what's right and wrong is just... no words. :x

They are nice, but they are also very conservative and even prejudiced against several groups. They have some strange beliefs - because the media told them their beliefs. They think our Indian neighbors are terrorists and that our Mexican neighbors are in the mob. All of these beliefs started about three years ago, when they started listening to a certain radio program and watching Fox News. I have to sigh, because they are letting the media tell them what to think, and they are changing as people because of this same media.

hmm, there are so many people who do that though...in fact I would say the vast majority do, whether Democrat or Republican. Saying that you would NEVER vote for someone of the opposite party is kind of short-sighted though:)

We have the same icon, so I had to use it. :) I agree with you completely - getting your info solely from one or two places is no good. You have to listen, read, etc. It makes me sad that so many people only get their info from Fox News or CNN or MSNBC or whatever. They can be kind of short-sighted. But, I think they said they would do so, because their radio program told them Democrats are "evil".

As neither Republican or Democrat, I hear that. I think both parties have their faults and weaknesses and both are run by the same interest, Big Business. That's in general, there are a few who seem to stand up every once in awhile for the common people, from both sides of the House.There are a few who decide in the interests of the public, not their own pocketbook.

But as long as people are caught up in the old argument, Republicans are evil, Democrats are evil, they will ignore this fundamental truth.

Agreed. Gone are the days of political figures that actually cared about the people that voted them into office. Now, it's all about money and what they can get from voting this way or that way on a bill.


There are a few who decide in the interests of the public, not their own pocketbook.

Sadly, very few.


Republicans are evil, Democrats are evil, they will ignore this fundamental truth.
