I want to seriously hurt the Finical Aid office employees at my school. Well, I’d love for them to, at the very least, all trip and skin their knees. Because of them, I’m extremely stressed and may develop a rash or something. You see, classes begin on the 25th. I have finical aid from an outside source.
Back at the end of June, I got together with that outside source – they told me all was taken care of. In the middle of July, I called the Finical Aid office at the college and they said they had never heard of me! :/ The woman I spoke to said that I was in the system, but I had to reapply for their school every six months. Something I had never heard of – something none of my classmates had heard of. I figured as long as you registered classes and didn’t apply for graduation and. . . well, it was all very < i>”Wait, what?” Financial Aid lady told me to fill out a lot of forms and reapply for entrance into the school. I was confused, as I had registered for fall classes with no problem back in late March. Plus, my outside source of Financial Aid had told me it was “taken care of.”
I called my outside source of Financial Aid, who told me that my classes had already been paid for, and not to worry. They told me just to go to the school’s FA office on my first day, if there were problems.
Then, on the 12th, the school calls me (I’d filled out and sent those forms to them earlier – like, back in June):
”Congrats, Nichole! You can get a Grant! Yes, the deadline is over, and okay. . . you may not get it. But, fill out these confusing forms and make copies and. . .”
When I got back into town on Thursday, I tried to fill out the forms. Only, I’m confused. And when I call the office for help – no one answers! I’ve called every two hours for three days, left messages, and emailed. I have one question, and no one will pick up the damn phone! Oh, yeah, and for my records I asked them to send me a letter saying I qualified for a Grant and they never did
Argh! Less than a week until classes start and I’m already stressed.
