I had some time on my trip, so I ended up making five vids. Yes, five! I would have made more, but my Tree of Heaven episodes wouldn't/couldn't load into the video maker on the laptop I was using.
Oh! Remember that list of upcoming vids? Well, while looking through my CDs, I came across even more songs that would fit with even more of my favorite dramas. Oi! *shakes fist* Damn you, my CDs. Damn you to hell! Like I need more stuff to do. *rolleyes*
Anyway. . .
I made five, yes five, vids during my ten day trip. Some were hard (TattaKoi) and some were freakishly easy (Battle Royale, Be With You). I have to say that I'm sorry about any subtitles that show up in a couple of the vids. I love hardsubs, but not when making videos.
TattaKoi is a very simple love story, full of cliches, chemistry, and running. They (or rather Kame's character) run a lot during the series. Honestly, you have to wonder why Hiroto never invested in a bus pass. Maybe he was too poor.
Anyway. . .
Aside from the romance of Nao and Hiroto, the show also had to offer a side-romance with Yuuko (whose the best) and Kou (side note: I think Tanaka Koki has a pretty smile). Plus, you get the awesome (and much over-looked) Ayuta and the friendship of these five 19/20 year olds. They're young, naive, selfish, stupid, growing up too fast and too slow all at once.
They're real.
It's why I've made this video, which (to me) looks at the relationships of these people. On a sad side note, I couldn't get episode nine into my video maker (there was some kind of error), so I didn't get to use all the clips I wanted. Maybe next time.
Title: Don't You (Forget About Me)
Song: Don't You (Forget About Me) by Simple Minds (edited)
Disclaimer: Don't own the song or the clips.
Detaild: WMV file. 16.2MB 3:38 minutes
Vidder's Note: I came across this song in my CDs while on my trip. I also had my Tatta Hitotsu no Koi DVD-Rs. And, it just fit together so perfectly. I will openly admit to the fact that the first few seconds look like opening credits.(Corny opening credits)

Nao. . . Nao is very interesting to me. She's sweet and naive, innocent. But, she's been through a lot and maybe she's just a little spoiled. When the story begins, she seems to almost be trapped at emotionally twelve, in the way that she's so innocent and wants what she wants when she wants it. However, she grows up. I think this video is about Nao's journey from the nineteen year old innocent girl-child we met to the twenty-three/four year old woman we leave. (Maybe. Or maybe I'm just being silly).
Title: Nobody's Home
Song: Nobody's Home by Avril Lavigne (edited)
Disclaimer: Don't own the song or the clips.
Detaild: WMV file. 2:58 minutes. 12.2MB
Vidder's Note: I know its been done a million times in a thousand fandoms, but... it's so Nao. The interesting thing about Nao, to me at least, is that she could have so easily broken down after the breakup (and at certain times during the relationship), however she became this really strong person. After being emotionally stuck at twelve, she grew up.

Strawberry on the Shortcake is a show that I totally adore. It's in my top five J-romance dramas. The characters are flawed, the love story's a bit unusual and yet somehow it all ends well. Somehow, I like all the characters. Yes, Manato can be possessive of Yui. Yes, Yui can get obsessive over people and things. Yes, Saeki is this close to being an ass at times. Yes, Haruka. . . well, she's the most normal. And yes, even the teacher, Mariko, can be totally selfish. BUT, I still like them all.
And, I love Manato and Yui together. [Side note: Am I alone in being sad that Takizawa Hideaki and Fukada Kyoko have played a couple twice (in this and a SP) and have never done more than hug? Why must the jodrama writers hurt me so?] Anyway, Manato and Yui are awesome, even if their love is slightly possessive and obsessive. So, I made a tiny video for them.
Title: Someone to Die For
Song: Someone to Die For by Belly
Disclaimer: Don't own 'em.
Details: wmv file. 1:54 minutes. 5.49MB
Vider's Note: I love this show. It doesn't matter that every character is selfish and/or obessive at one point, I still love them all and their messy relationships. So, when I heard this song it just screamed: 'Manato's feelings for Yui!'

Ima Ai ni Yukimasu aka Be With You is a wonderful love story. Not just between Mio and Takumi, but also between a mother and her son and a father and his son. I love the movie, novel, and series.
Out of the movie and series, I think I like the series more, though. There's a very real awkwardness and sweetness between Mimura as Mio and Narimiya Hiroki as Takumi. Maybe because they had more time to explore the relationship, I don't know. I just know that I loved their scenes together and spent most of the series waiting for them to hold hands, hug, and even kiss. I'm a sucker for tragic love and theirs was beyond tragic.
Which is way I bring this video. It's edited, because the song felt more like two different songs to me.
Title: I Remember
Song: I Remember by Damien Rice (edited)
Disclaimer: Don't own 'em.
Details: wmv file. 9.48MB, 2:18 minutes
Vider's Note: I love this story. I own the series and novel and watch the movie whenever I can. I love story between Mio and Takumi it
is beautiful, which is why I've made this video.

Battle Royale. What can I say about this notorious and controversial story? It's good and sad and hopeful. It's a very real look at people, and how they tend to break down when things get too hard. It's a real look at the way governments sometimes go too far in trying to protect themselves and the people they're supposed to care for. It's. . . a lot of things and I'm sure anyone that's read the novel and/or seen the movie could write whole papers on the different themes throughout the novel and movie.
This video, however, looks at the theme of what the government program called the B.R. Act does. Lots of death scenes in this one, folks. The song, at least to me, really fits the film and I've been dying to make this video.
Title: Blackeyed
Song: Blackeyed by Placebo
Disclaimer: Don't own 'em.
Details: wmv file. 22.7MB. 3:38 minutes
Vider's Note: A video about the way the program ruined the lives of the kids. Warning: Blood and shooting.
