He had nightmares all the time, now. Nightmares about all the awful things he’d done, all the people he’d killed over the years. And perhaps because she had been his world for over 100 years, Dru was always in his nightmares.

She was always smiling and laughing in the nightmares. Dru would kiss him and coo and tell him he was her knight. He would smirk at her and draw her close as he called her ‘baby’ or ‘princess’.

In Spike’s nightmares, he was Dru’s and she was his. And even though they were nightmares, they always made Spike smile.
