"Fushigi Yugi" gets theatrical adaptation

Yu Watase's popular manga series "Fushigi Yugi" is being adapted to the stage. The news was announced on Wednesday by the Shogakukan magazine Flowers, which currently serializes the manga's prequel, "Fushigi Yugi Genbu Kaiden."
The stage adaptation is being produced by promotion company Amipro and directed by Shintaro Sugano. So far, only Mao Miyaji (26) has been announced as a cast member. More details will be made available on Shogakukan's website.
A total of 9 performances are scheduled over a five-day span (October 20-24) at The Pocket theater in Nakano, Tokyo. - Tokyograph
