I cannot sleep, so I thought I'd share some random thoughts of (slight or no) interest.
-Earlier tonight, I was watching Casanova, the good one written by Russell T Davies and staring Peter O'Toole, whose still attractive, David Tennant, whose great in this,, Laura Fraser (Door!), Rupert Penry-Jones, and Rose Byrne. When an odd thought came into my mind: If he really slept with 122 women, at one point he must have gotten a ton of STDs! Now, I know it's a strange thought, but it's there now. I can't get the thought out of my head. Really disturbing.
-Why is it, in books written in the 1700s and 1800s, people fall in love so fast? Literally, two minutes after meeting they're in love, want to get married, and have millions of babies. Don't get me wrong, I like a happy ending as much as the next person, but...five minutes and they're in love and rambling on and on about their love being all great. Yeah, okay, lovely, but it's been five minutes! Apparently, people dropped fast in those days (plus, if you were female, you were considered 'old' at 23), so they had to move quickly. There was no time for the 'getting to know you' period. It was all: 'You're attractive and rich, I'm attractive and need money. Let's get married! We've only got 200 pages to make this work.'
-Last night, at two in the moring, I suddenly shot up in bed and yelled: "I've left the stove on!" This was a lie, as I hasn't even used the stove. I guess I was dreaming about cooking or being forgetful.
-Why is it, television from across the ocean is better than American television? Seriously, I've spent the last couple of weeks randomly watching sitcoms and drama from the U.K. and a few other countries. Their television shows are more interesting, more orginial, and a lot funnier. I think the problem is that America is 'stuck', and can't get away from the same old sitcoms and all the law and cops dramas. Which is why, when anything really good comes along it is either on the cable networks or canned after a season or so.
-Sometimes, I suddenly get he urge to clean my whole house. So, I do. Just randomly clean things. It's a bit manic, but at one forty in the morning, my house is spotless.
-I'm really looking forward to House on Tuesday.
