walkwithheroes: [Being Human] (Giddy Dorks)
[personal profile] walkwithheroes
Sunday is shaping up to be my day of the week. Two dramas that I really enjoy play on this day: Once Upon a Time and Being Human. This week saw two awesome episodes of these dramas. Actually, I would say that "Skin Deep" is (so far) the best episode of Once. Though, "1955" wasn't as strong as "Eve of War", it was still a solid episode.

Under the cut you'll find some spoiler-filled thoughts and a gif or two.

"Skin Deep" Thoughts:

- I'm over David/Mary Margaret. They are having an affair, and true love are not, that's not something I can get behind. Mostly because David's wife is such a nice lady (even Fairy Tale land Abigail/Kathryn seems okay. Spoiled, but not a bitch or anything)So yes, David has turned into a creep who needs to get his shit together. And Mary Margaret needs to move on until David gets his shit together. And Kathryn needs to find someone who loves her. (I still like Snow/James, though)

- I love Rumplestiltskin as the "Beast" in the fairy tale and am just so annoyed that some people are still whining that the episode "wasn't like the true story. The Disney story." Whoa. The story of Beauty and the Beast has been around for hundreds of years and has been told in many countries. Disney didn't make up the story.

- The more the show goes on, the more annoying I find Emma. Am I alone in this? She just seems to be getting stupider. I thought she was supposed to be street smart.

- I'm glad that they have started to have characters from past episodes reappear, to give it a better flavor. These people are supposed to live in a town and know each other. But, I really don't care about Ashley/Sean.

- Regina. I didn't see her as evil before. Killing Graham for dumping her was an evil move, lying to Rumplestiltskin about Belle being dead was evil (but totally a move in whatever game/power struggle they seem to be playing), but with "Skin Deep", I've decided that she is more evil than good. She's got real world!Belle locked up in a mental ward! Which leads me to all kinds of theories. Like the Curse could maybe be broken if Gold and Belle kiss. (a loophole?) or Belle remembers because of her connection to Gold or Regina is keeping her there just to be a major bitch in her powers struggle with Gold. I don't know, but I really want to know why Belle is in the mental ward.

- Yay for Belle being alive.

- The scene where Regina told Rumple that Belle had been locked up then killed. . .it broke my heart. That brief hopeful look when he asked if Belle needed a home, followed by that look when Regina said she was dead. It broke my heart.

- Rumple/Belle is my new OTP. They were so awkwardly adorkable together!

- I knew that Gold would go insane over an item that was Belle's! When he was beating Mr. French and screaming that it was his fault Belle was dead. Powerful. Give RC all the awards. But, really Belle's "death"/imprisonment is kind of Gold/Rumple's fault. Regina tricked him in a way. But, he let his insecure nature and his need for power win over his love for Belle.

- I have a horrible feeling that Belle (who will be in one more episode this season) will die in the real world. I think Regina has her heart, tbh. Or maybe Gold lets her go past Storybrooke to 'save' her from Regina. God, I don't know. I just can't see Belle/Rumple(Gold) getting a happy ending. The whole point of Gold is to be the other side of the coin. It's all about his power struggle with Regina. And, we can't have that if he's happy and in love. Unless he looses his memory of the fairy tale world when he kisses Belle. (That could be interesting)

Overall, this was the best episode of the series.

The. Best.

Now, about "1955"

- Leo was totally adorable, but Pearl annoyed me. Still, I'm so glad they got a happy ending.

- Hal is about one bad Monday from going on a killing spree. I know his routines and staying away from people are supposed to help, but he is too repressed. Maybe staying off blood just isn't something a vampire can do?

- I love Tom.

- I adore Annie and her geeky ways and her list making, but I hate when the writers have her obsess and act like she did in this episode. But, I understand why she was acting that way. She misses Mitchell, George, and Nina. She's scared of what will happen to her now. Annie is the type of person that always needs people to live for and take care of. It was Owen, then Mitchell and George, then Mitchell, George, and Nina, then George and Eve, and now it is Tom, Eve, and Hal. Hal was right when he said Annie wears a mask. She is bright and cheerful, but inside. . .I'm sure it is all angst and anger and fear. I hope they explore that.

- I think Hal and Tom will be a great mismatched pair of heroes.

- I read that Hal falls in love in the second half of S4, and Tom will get a girlfriend. I wonder if the two will be replacements for Nina (and maybe Annie, if the rumor of her crossing over at the end of S4 is true)?

- I didn't like this episode as much as last week's, but I do think it set a lot up for the rest of S4.

My thoughts and new OTP may not be something you agree with, but
