University is nearly over!

This past week was the first week of my (hopefully) final semester of university. I'm taking four classes, doing an internship, and working at the on-campus nursery school. I'm going to be busy!



I work at the on-campus nursery (for free) every Wednesday from 7:45 a.m.-12:00 p.m. I'm working with the three and four year olds, so that should be fairly interesting. (And nerve-wreaking!) My internship is at a local assisted living home. I have to go fifteen hours a week, so I'm trying to figure out how to fit that all in. I have no classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so I hope to be able to do at least ten hours during those two days. I'm also taking a Sociology class - solely because of my internship - all about Death and Dying. I have to build a bird house and visit a funeral home! Oy. Not looking forward to those two things. Other than that, it seems like most of the semester will be spent writing a lot of papers, working on my resume,and making lesson plans for the nursery.



I'm going to be busy; but, a few people who graduated last semester tell me it's not nearly as bad as I think it is. We shall we.

I've been through a semester like that and it's not bad as long as you're mentally prepared to be busy, which it seems you are :)

In a way, I'm totally ready for a busy semester. And in another way - I'm already panicking.



No and yes. My first choice was declined, as the supervisor of that site is now one of our professors. So, they offered me my second - which I really wanted, but the site wanted a sociology minor to intern there, and my minor is English. Still, they took me. My first meeting with my supervisor is tomorrow at 9.

Ooh that's great! Hopefully that meeting turned out well :)
To be honest, I don't see how having sociology as a minor would affect the way you worked with people, and it would all depend on the classes you take anyways.
Perhaps it would give you underlying theory on how people related to the world, but that can be learned through experience too.

The meeting went alright. I had my first official day today. I was there from 8:45-4:00, so I did a lot. I was on my feet all day, so I'm so ready for bed! I really loved it and all the elderly residents, aids, and office staff are really kind.

It doesn't, really. At least not that I can see. But, the professor in charge of picking our internship sites decided that center sites required center minors, in order to help us deal with the clients of the centers.
