men and legends plus romance of red dust

I finished Men and Legends and I have to say it wasn't bad. I think the show had a lot of issues: choppy editing and there were times where the writing was a little 'WTF?' But, I have to say that overall I did enjoy it. I do think some of the acting was a little over done, however the two male leads did do well. 


The last four episodes were a roller coaster of angst and hope. There were twists and turns and  betrayal after  betrayal. The moment I thought someone had double crossed someone else, it turned out that, no maybe they hadn't.I don't want to spoil what happens to the OTPs, but I will day that, like with all these dramas: the ending theme gives it away. Plus,  people that I thought would live didn't and people I thought would die - lived.


I watched the third disc of Romance of Red Dust - finally it is picking up! I think I now believe 70% of the OTP's epic love, but there are still moments were I don't believe it. I'm also loving the Princess and I'm truly interested in the stuff going on at Fu Nu's old place (with Liu Yun's character - I fell really badly for her). And, am I alone in wanting Yao Jin and Ping Yang together?

You should finish them whenever you have time. Why neither are great shows - they aren't entering my top ten, and I'm sure they wouldn't enter yours - they are still fairly good.

He's their friend with the two axes. I watched the fourth disc Wednesday/Thursday, and it seems something could happen there. Btw: that rape scene was awful. I hated how afterward he was pretending to feel horrible about it, while she was just sitting there crying.

Yeah. I was really shocked when that happened, and at how (relatively, for wuxia) graphic it was. The actress did an amazing job with it, though.

I agree, it was beyond shocking. I really didn't think I'd see that sort of thing in a wuxia drama. But, the actress did brilliantly. I'm really loving her in the role.
