Random Drama Thoughts
Being Human begins its third series tomorrow night. I'm excited, but not overly so. I know that many times the first episode of a new series/season is just set-up, so not too much happens. (BTW: has anyone else seen the ads for the U.S. remake? What is with the U.S. remaking all these British shows at once: Shameless, Skins, Being Human - why not just show the originals? The Sy-fy channel shows Merlin - they couldn't show Being Human?)
Also - I watched the first episode of the MTV Skins and thought it was alright. I give it a C; not bad but not great. Some of the acting isn't very good, but I see potential in some of the characters and actors. It was rather tame compared to the U.K. version - even though they used the same script - so I'm slightly confused with all the anger over it from the conservative groups. (They like The Secret Life of the American Teenager - a show all about teen sex, but not this?)
I am all caught up with both My Princess and Dream High:
I think MP is really a marathon type show; it is very fluffy and addictive because of the interaction of the OTP. The plot is slowly starting to come together, which I like. But, the Secondary Female is truly just evil - I want to punch her in the face. The sister isn't much better. Why is she so jealous; even before Seol was shown to be the missing Princess, Dan was mean to her. I want to know why.
Dream High is also rather addictive, and like My Princess, would be a fun drama to marathon. Surprisingly, I'm not shipping much in this drama (just Jason/Pil Sook) - the shipper and character wars on soompi are crazy. I also like all the characters, even the "evil" ones. I'm more interested in the interactions and friendships. The storyline is a bit thin, and the acting isn't always solid, but I like these characters.
I'm still watching Gloria; I'm up to episode forty-six with subtitles. I love the way everything is coming together. But, I've had to stop going to Soompi - they are all about JJ/KS and have to regard for the rest of the storylines and characters. I like JJ/KS, but I do care about the other storylines and would like to discuss that sometimes. Anyway - I like the way the show is wrapping up and the way the character arcs are all slowly ending.
The new Japanese television season has started, but I'm not sure what to watch. It seems most of the dramas are crime/mystery/cop based, and I'm really not in the mood for that. For my Japanese viewing, I'm more in the mood for something more romantic, as its been a while since I've watched a good romantic Japanese drama. But, I'm not interested in Fuyu no Sakura (she's having an affair; even if she doesn't know it, it's still not my thing) or Taisetsu na Koto wa Subete Kimi ga Oshiete Kureta (I'm not a Toda Erika fan). I don't think I'll be watching any new Japanese dramas this season.
So - what is everyone else watching?

I'm watching My Princess too. Cute and likeable, but its not love for me. I also caught part of the Japanese drama Guilty, which has an interesting concept, but I couldn't really like the characters.
Of all the shows I'm watching now, Awayjee See Chompoo is probably the one I'm really waiting to watch. Its about a marriage between a high school girl and her older guardian. Really sweet, seeing as their feelings gradually change towards each other.
For a Japanese show to watch, I recommend Nagareboshi, the only Japanese show I've actually finished watching recently. Its more about family then a focus on romance, but I found it enjoyable.
Not watching any American tv right now, but recommend Man From Nowhere, the Korean film, if you like movies with the one guy who's superior to everyone else kicking butt right and left. Good fun that!

I enjoyed the atmosphere of it, the music, the look and some of the characters more than the plot, which was kinda pedestrian.

I guess it's not the drama to watch if I want to get back into jdramas...

I loved Guilty! I thought the characters really interested in their own ways. A bit melodramatic, but a fun Japanese revenge drama. My Princess is cute and fluffy fun.
Awayjee See Chompoo it sounds a bit out there. Where's it from?
I saw a bit of Nagereboshi when it aired. I liked it well enough, but the subtitles were slow, and the more I heard about the plot - the more it seemed like it wasn't for me.
Man From Nowhere was awesome!

And so much amen on the scariness of DH thread.

Right now I decided to catch up on older dramas that I usually have no time to get invested in. For example I started Que Sera Sera (I have some problems with it but it's very addictive so I will keep watching). Also was craving something relaxing and mind-numbing so started watching King of Baking but it's mostly hosted on wat.com which somehow doesn't work for me so I'm considering downloading it or perhaps dropping it altogether.
There is a taiwanese drama I got kind of interested in but only watched the first episode - Gloomy Salad Days (the title sounded so ridicilous I had to check it out!). It's very intriguing, need to watch more asap!
Wanted to watch a jdrama as well since I abandoned jdramas for the past 2 years, but I don't know if there is anything good that came out lately! I actually just started reading synopses off mysoju to see if something catches my attention. Would you happen to have any recommendations?

Japanese recommendations? It depends what you're in the mood for:
darker/revenge/mystery dramas I like: Guilty, Zeni Geba, and Majo Saiban
romance/school/drama: Q10, Nobuta wo Produce, Natsu no Koi wa Nijiiro ni Kagayaku, Smile, Orange Days, etc

Although I like JJ/KS I am more about the other couple , I hope everything works well for those two.

I prefer YS/DA, too. As of episode 48 (just two left!) things are working out. They had a lot of angst (much more then JJ/KS, actually), but they are okay.

I thought of going to soompi for discussion about them but seeing your messiah there's nothing about them there?such a pity

So... this means even if i go to soompi, i won't find a lot of discussion about them? is it worth going there at all? I haven't gotten into that far yet actually I'm in the mid of 30ish and a lot of angst happening now. 43ish.. i assume is when everything is resolved for their relationship?
Yay can't wait for your video

What she says is right.. if she didn't met Dong Ah.. i think one of those days she's gonna try her suicide again and it might be successful.
I think they're both an individual that saves each other ...
On a side note.. OMG I hate KS brother... he's such an annoying person and his face.. omg #$(%*#%

Creepy (KS's bro) is the worst character. He's such a villain, and he tries to ruin the lives of so many people - but, he has no real reason for half of what he does.
no subject
Creepy is crazy. I don't know why he's so obsessed with YS. I can't see any reason and he is jus a sick person.
no subject
I have no idea why Creepy is so obsessed with her, either. It was something I often wondered about while watching the show. She said two words to him on the plane, and he was obsessed. All I can think is that she reminded him of his wife and of JJ's sister.
no subject
But her obsession is so scary. I finally finish watching it. Though at the end
their relatonshoip a bit boring but they're so cute together. And I luv how finally YS parents see the good thing about DA

The difference between KS/JJ & DA/YS relationship is.. KS & JJ are both mature individual though they love each other but if for any reason they didn't end up together I guess both of them can still live on.
But for YS/DA.. especially YS.. I sort can see if she is forced to marry Creepy... she'll commit suicide again maybe not long after making sure DA is okay
no subject
Yes, DA/YS were more innocent and needed each other much more. I thought the two relationships were the two extremes of K-drama couples.
no subject
Yup i agree regarding both were two extremes of Kdrama couples. When they're both together 4 of them.. you can just feel their happiness. Such a great drama where they focus not only on the relationship but also on the friendship

I found a clip in youku (sort of chinese youtube) that just focus on DA/YS which is great cause I don't need to FF other part of the show.
Can't wait for your next video about them
