Taking Care of Business, the 'Invasion' Way (An Invasion Review)

Wow. Just wow. The episodes just keep getting better and better. I'm still collecting my thoughts, but I'll try to give a okay review of 'Run and Gun'.

Plot:

It certainly thickens, doesn't it? The hybrids all underwater was tres creepy. And now it seems as if Tom and Russell can only trust one another, their wives, Dave, Lewis, and the kids. 'Cause half the town seems to be working for Szura. The hurricane is named Miranda! (Serenity fans could so get a giggle from that!) The whole episode was edge of your seat kind of stuff. Frankly, I'm glad I taped it.

Characters:

Tom- All right, I feel for the guy. It's like he has no one left to trust and all he wants to do is protect his loved ones and for everyone to co-exist. It's just awful that he has no one left and that he is losing all the ideas he held dear. But, I do love that he gets all 'Tom' when his kids are in danger. The way he drove the car into the whatever that was says it all-he's willing to kill in order to take care of business. I don't see Tom as 'evil', I see him as someone who wants to take care of his 'people', but who also goes about it badly at times. And yes, he does sometimes trust the wrong people.

Russell-

What can I say? Russell is taking care of business. He and Tom make a great team. They balance one another out, I think. Tom is more calm and Russell can be more reckless. More 'They are all bad. This has to be done.' I worry for him the most, because I could see him getting hurt. I don't know what to say about Russell this week, except that I liked the way he handled Jesse and thought of his family. Russell is an odd character for me, because a lot of times he seems to be doing the same thing every week: being all Scooby, but hardcore.

Mariel-

Okay, okay...all the adults were taking care of business this week. I am glad that she was getting the hospital ready, since she won't be there. And I did find myself warming to her a bit. Strange, but true. On a good note: I like the way she handled Kira and Lewis-she didn't say anything. In a way that was very kind and respectful of her. 'Cause honestly, I don't think Lewis will live through the finale.

Larkin-

She got the warning about Miranda out! Go Larkin, go Larkin! I'm glad she did it, even if she goes lose her job. People should know. I felt for her in her scene with Dave. It must be hard to leave someone you love behind, knowing you might never see them again. Have I said this: I adore Larkin, even if she can bug me at times. Then again, that may be her charm-she's no nonsense and I like that.

Dave-

Got a love interest-maybe. Here's hoping Erica Ward makes it through Miranda, even if it is just so she and Dave can get that coffee. I love, love, love that Dave stayed behind in order to record what happens and to protect the house. I really love Dave and the way he is with Rose, as well. Dave is just pure awesome.

Jesse-

Is so jealous of Kira/Lewis.Glad he told Lewis he was sorry for what happened. I get the feeling that Jesse will be protecting his sisters next week. Jesse is really coming into his own and I really think his character just gets more interesting each week.

Kira-

Okay, I adore Kira but she is way too trusting. With everything going on, the girl needs to learn that even the so called good guys may not be the good guys. Oh and, she's in love with Lewis and they kissed. Yay to all the K/L shippers! Though, she shouldn't have run out of the hospital like that, even if I get why she did it.

Rose-

Cute, as always. But, nothing to say. Except-the return of her cat! Where the hell has that thing been?! It's like the dog on Lost, it just pops up every couple of weeks.

Lewis-

Nearly dying apparently makes people see they are in love? But...is he as good as dead, now that he told Kira 'I'll wait for you.' and now that they kissed? I sure hope not, as Lewis could be a great character to keep around.

Szura-

He's creepy, powerful, and he freaks me out. Yet, I think I kind of like him in a strange way. He's the perfect bad guy.

Ships:

Mariel and Tom/ Larkin and Russell/ Mariel and Russell/ Tom and Larkin-

Can anyone say OT4? Seriously, these two couples (M/T and L/R) seem to do everything together, right down to the kiss-less goodbyes.

Dave and Erica Ward-

I just hope Erica makes it. As I said above, Dave should get a little love and happiness, even if it isn't for very long.

Jesse and Kira-

He is so jealous and it's cute on him. But, Kira seems pretty pissed at him. Hopefully, they can get back to at least being friends.

Kira and Lewis-

I'm a fan, so I was giddy during their scenes. Even if it was a bit...over done?...still, it was kind of sweet. Though, I do have a sinking feeling that it means Lewis will die during the finale.

So, that's my review for Invasion's 20th episode, 'Run and Gun'. Here's hoping we get a season two!

I'll be back later with a small review of Lost
