Normally I don't like fics that are completely based on their kids, or other characters. Mary Sues (obvious attempts by the author to put themself in the fic) bother me a lot, but these seem to be the type of kids that would be raised on Serenity.
I would have liked more of the original characters (Mal/Inara, Zoe/Wash, Simon/Kaylee, River/Jayne), but hey, this fic was great!!!
I really liked the story about the Reaver, Angel. It kind of gives an uncharacteristic humanness to the reavers. I felt really sad for Angel when it ran off. It just liked Rayne... Though I personally like Shadow a bit better, Angel was sweet!
