Once Upon a Time: "Broken" (2.1) Thoughts
My show is back! And boy did it ever come back with a bang. Questions were answered and new questions came. I really enjoyed it. On to my thoughts. (Spoilers!!)
That Man:
- He's a unique one no doubt. The postcard he got with 'Broken'. Who was it from? August? Jefferson? It had to have been from someone who knows where he is and someone who knew the curse was breaking.
Mulan, Prince Philip, and Auroa:
- I completely called Fairytale land taking place at the same time as SB. So, everyone was protected and frozen in time? How interesting! Who protected them and why?
- Philip's death was a bit sad. His 'I love you' could have been meant for either woman, but I like to think he loved them both. Sleeping Beauty may have been his true love (or was he just hers?), but Mulan seems to have been his best friend and someone he deeply cared for, perhaps even loved. She mostly certainly felt for him.
-Mulan and Auroa finding Snow and Emma? Excellent! Cannot wait to see where they go with that.
Regina and Gold:
- Regina's whole thing this episode was alright. I did like her lack of magic and who useless she looked to be. I liked that she still loves Henry, but like Rumple, her power and her wants always end up coming first.
- The Gold/Regina scene in the jail was very well done. His anger was so well played, as was her fear afterward. Those two just work so well off one another.
Red/Ruby, Snow/MM, David/Charming, Emma, and the Rest:
- I really really loved all those reunion scenes. Especially with the seven and Snow being reunited.
- Some people may be annoyed that Emma wasn't grabbing onto her parents, but I get it. Now isn't the time for happy family and it is a bit of a shock.
- I cannot wait to see some of the others and how the town starts looking for one another.
Rumpel and Belle:
- I adored their little re-reunion and kiss in the forest. I thought it was rather well done, because we all know that Rumple will always want revenge and power against those that have wronged him/hurt him or his loved ones. He cannot help it.
- I loved that he was spinning and had the cup out. I feel like if EdR had had her pilot picked up, Belle would have been gone for ages. But she came back and says she will stay because he's a monster or what not and must save him. Or something. I love them and really look forward to seeing it all unfold.
