Dream High Ends
Dream High came to an end today, and though there is a special tomorrow, the stories of the characters have ended as well. I think its safe to say that everyone got a happy ending. In 2018, everyone appears to be - more or less - where they want to be.
8 Years Later:
Sam Dong is still going deaf - he wears a hearing aid now -, and is also the mysterious K.
Jin Gook is now a huge star in Asia. I'm not sure if he's not a singer, or if he also acts now, but he's huge. We see him coming back from somewhere, just in time to attend a concert -
Hye Min is still a singer. And, Jin Gook is back just in time for her concert. Where she sings Only Hope for a "friend who might be lonely".
Baek Hee is now a teacher at Kirin. We see her in a classroom with a bunch of snotty girls. Beak Hee has taken on the role of Shi - she drops a bunch of tacks on the ground and has her students pick them up.
Jason and Pil Sook are still together. Pil Sook has gained back a little weight, but she seems happy. We see her singing to a small group of children - it looks like she's a kindergarten teacher. I have no idea what Jason does.
Teacher Shi and Teacher Kang are together and still working at Kirin.
Kang Oh Sun (Teacher's Kang sister) and Ma Doo Shik are married and have a baby. JG is still with Ma's talent agency.
Go Hye Sung is now a student a Kirin. She's grown up to be a pretty girl, and she still has a crush on JG.
What I liked is that the show leaves somethings open - like what happened between 2011 and 2018, to get everyone where they are. But, it also leaves things settled. HM and SD had a lovely goodbye, and it leaves a bit of a opening for the idea that JG and HM may be a couple, or soon will be. Thus, it makes the crazed HM/JG shippers and the crazed HM/SD shippers happy.
The only thing - I wish all the Jason/Pil Sook scenes hadn't been cut. Apparently several of their scenes from the last four episodes were cut to make room for the triangle. Blah.
